Aaron Swartz

Aaron Swartz is still considered today as one of the great martyrs of the free Internet. A genius American programmer and activist, he was a staunch supporter of the unfettered and unrestricted transmission of academic knowledge. He committed suicide on January 11, 2013 in New York.
